Richard Louis Kraft

Richard Louis Kraft, 62, of Aberdeen, passed away Thursday, September 3, 2015, at his residence.

His memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Father Michael Griffin officiating.

A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center.

Richard's wishes were to be cremated with burial taking place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Aberdeen.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary on Tuesday.

Richard Louis Kraft was born on April 16, 1953, in Aberdeen, SD, to Louis Henry and Joyce (Craig) Kraft. He attended St. Mary's Parochial School and graduated from Roncalli High School with the Class of 1971.

Richard was united in marriage to Chau Lu on June 8, 1978. To this union two children, Paul and Lisa, were born.

Richard was employed at St. Luke's Hospital for several years before beginning a 25-year career with 3M, where he remained until the time of his retirement.

In his spare time, Richard enjoyed fishing, playing Chess, and collecting coins. He also loved animals, especially his dog, "Harry".

Grateful to have shared in Richard's life is his son, Paul (Rachel) Kraft of Rapid City, SD; his daughter, Lisa Kraft of Aberdeen; his mother, Joyce Kraft of Aberdeen; and one sister, Patti (Tom) Cavanaugh of Akaska, SD.

Richard is preceded in death by his father; his maternal grandparents; and his paternal grandparents.
