Reginald A. Le Brun

Reginald A. Le Brun, 72, of Rapid City, SD, and formerly of Aberdeen, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, August 25, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 409 2nd Avenue NE, Aberdeen, with Father J. Joseph Holzhauser, Celebrant. Burial follows at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Aberdeen.

Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be 4-5 p.m., Sunday, at the mortuary, with a Liturgical Wake Service and Rosary at 5:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before Mass at church Monday.

Reginald A. Le Brun was born on February 24, 1942, in Fargo, ND, to Fred and Sarah (Gourneau) Le Brun. He was raised and attended school in Belcourt, ND, where he graduated from Turtle Mountain Community High School. Reginald furthered his education at Bottineau Junior College in Bottineau, ND.

Reginald was united in marriage to Doreen A. Gourneau on October 19, 1963, in Belcourt, ND. The couple owned and operated a variety store in Belcourt for several years. Reginald then began employment with the Bureau of Indian Affairs, a job that took him and his family to various locations throughout North Dakota, Nebraska, and South Dakota, before settling in Aberdeen in 1985. Following his retirement in 2008, Reginald and Doreen moved to Rapid City, where he continued to reside until the time of his death.

Reginald loved spending time outdoors camping, fishing, trap shooting and golfing. He also enjoyed traveling to different casinos, bowling, and playing guitar. Above all, Reginald cherished the time spent with his family.

Grateful to have shared in Reginald's life is his wife of 51 years, Doreen Le Brun of Rapid City, SD; four children: Brian (Clarice) Le Brun of Rapid City, Mark Le Brun of Aberdeen, Reginald (Julie) Le Brun of Andover, MN, and Michelle (Uzo) Obineche of Rapid City; and eight grandchildren: Ben and Brian Micah Le Brun, Vanessa and Kevin Le Brun, Cajete and Joseph Obineche, and Luke and Cheyenne Le Brun.

Preceding Reginald in death are his parents, Fred and Sarah Le Brun, sister, Betty Drapeaux, and son, Kevin.
