Rayma Pierson, 60, of Columbia, SD, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015, at Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD.

Her funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, October 9, 2015, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Reverend Tyler Poppen officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.

Rayma Ann Frerichs was born on August 30, 1955, in Franklin, NE, to John and Ruth (Evers) Frerichs. She was raised on a farmstead in Columbia, SD, with her two brothers, Von and Wally, and her sister, Janice. Following high school graduation, Rayma furthered her education at the Aberdeen School of Commerce.

Rayma then began what would become a 34-year career as Office Manager for L & O Acres in Westport, SD. She took great pride in her work and was well known for her knowledge of farming operations.

Rayma was married to Gordon Pierson for 28 years. Together they had one daughter, Nicole. Rayma continued to reside in Columbia until the time of her death.

Grateful to have shared in Rayma's life is her daughter, Nicole (Kevin) Weron of Rapid City, SD; two siblings: Wally Frerichs of Yakima, WA and Janice Evers of Medford, OR; two nieces: Christy Pfutzenreuter and Sunday Pfutzenreuter; and five nephews: Kyle Frerichs, Brandon Frerichs, Jeff Frerichs, Scott Frerichs, and Matthew Pierson. Rayma also leaves behind her two grandchildren, Veronica and Axel Weron, who brought her great joy and fulfillment.

Rayma's parents and one brother, Von Frerichs, preceded her in death.
