The Memorial Service for Phyllis Anne Wetzler, 85, of Aberdeen, will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 31, 2014, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Ross Reinhiller officiating. A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center.

It was Phyllis' wishes to be cremated with burial taking place at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Aberdeen.

Phyllis passed away Saturday, July 26, 2014, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.

Phyllis Anne Barr was born on September 7, 1928, in Menlo, IA, to Earl and Mamie (Johnson) Barr. She was raised and attended school in Lemmon, SD and was a graduate of Lemmon High School.

Phyllis was united in marriage to Warren Wetzler on December 26, 1946, in Aberdeen. The couple made their home on a farm near Northville, SD, and their union was blessed with five children. Phyllis spent most of her time on the farm cooking and raising their children. Following retirement, she and Warren moved to Warner, SD, and began spending the winter months in Arizona. In 2012, they moved to Bethesda in Aberdeen, where she remained until the time of her death.

Phyllis enjoyed fishing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also an avid shopper.

Grateful to have shared her life is her husband of 67 years, Warren Wetzler of Aberdeen; five children: Jerry (Nancy Rude) Wetzler of Redfield, SD, Keith (Barb) Wetzler of Northville, SD, Neal Wetzler of Rapid City, SD, Joan (Steve) Johnson of Visalia, CA, and Tom (Hidie) Wetzler of Nisland, SD; 15 grandchildren: Travis Wetzler, Sarah Jensen, Amanda Henstein, Patrick Wetzler, Lance Wetzler, Ross Wetzler, Wade Wetzler, Holly Backous, Haley Wetzler, Jill Gormley, Carrie Johnson, Crystal Torrez, Colt Wetzler, Heath Wetzler, and Corey Hannah; 21 great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Jack Barr of Aberdeen and James (Vonnie) Barr of Sioux Falls, SD.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; one infant sister; and two brothers, Earl Barr and Gene Barr.
