Phillip Aaron Klapperich was born November 25, 1951, in Conde, SD to Wayne and Joyce (Little) Klapperich. He grew up on the family farm and attended school in Conde. After high school graduation, he furthered his education at South Dakota State University.
Phillip was united in marriage to Janelle Tschetter on August 6, 1976, in Britton, SD. The couple made their home in Aberdeen, where Phillip worked as a machinist at Safeguard, (now known as Hub City), until retirement.
He was a proud member of the local IAM machinist union. Phillip loved music, whether it be singing or playing the guitar. Fond memories were also built hunting pheasants with his sons and grandsons on the Klapperich family homestead. Above all, Phillip loved his family, and treasured being a grandfather to Oliver (age 8), Miles, (age 6), Ari (age 7), Remi (age 6), and Sawyer (6 months).
Grateful to have shared in Phillip’s life are his sons, Adam Klapperich of Shoreview, MN and Justin (Laura) Klapperich of Rapid City, SD. He was also known as a great brother. Surviving siblings include: Edward “Skip”, David, Raymond, Neil, Deanna, Virginia, Karen, Peggy, Danny, and Steve.
Phillip was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Janelle Klapperich, who passed away on October 10, 2018; his parents, Wayne and Joyce Klapperich; and his brother, Danny Klapperich.
