Peter P. Wolf

Peter P. Wolf, of Bloomington, MN and formerly of Aberdeen, passed away on his 92nd birthday, Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Minneapolis, MN.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, August 19, 2020, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 409 3rd Avenue SE, Aberdeen, with Father Andrew Dickenson, Celebrant.

Burial follows at Sacred Heart Cemetery.

Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, at the mortuary, with a liturgical wake service beginning at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation continues one hour prior to Mass at the church on Wednesday.

Peter P. Wolf was born August 8, 1928, to Lawrence and Elizabeth (Gabriel) Wolf in Hillsview, SD.  He was raised on the family farm until he and his family moved to Aberdeen.  Following graduation from Aberdeen Central High School, Peter moved to Minneapolis, MN, where he attended Dunwoody Institute.  It was while attending school there that he met his future wife, Delores Kriech.

Peter was united in marriage to Delores on June 12, 1950, in Waubay, SD.  The couple made Aberdeen their home, where Peter was employed in the hotel business for many years before eventually retiring from Presentation College as Maintenance Director.  The couple then moved to the Minneapolis, MN area.  Peter and Delores shared 41 years of marriage and raised five children together before she passed away on March 22, 1992.  Peter continued to reside in Minnesota until the time of his death.

Peter was a member and also served as President of The Custodial Engineer Association.  He enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting and fishing, reading old Western novels and working puzzles. Peter also enjoyed collecting coins and Avon decanters.

Grateful for sharing Peter’s life are his children:  Tom Wolf of Watertown, SD, Pat Christenson of Minneapolis, MN, Dave (Patti) Wolf of Clear Lake, SD and Don Wolf of Aberdeen; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his sister, Caroline Wolf.

Peter was preceded in death by his wife, Delores; his daughter, Susan; his son-in-law, Jack Christenson; one grandson, Scott; his parents, Lawrence and Elizabeth; two sisters, Mary Burgard and Marcella Gisi; and his brother, Jake Wolf.
