Peter John Adam

Mass of Christian Burial for Peter John Adam, 57, Aberdeen, will be 10:30am Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 409 3rd Ave SE. with Father Melvin Kuhn officiating. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery with Military rites by the Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post #24 of Aberdeen, SD.

A rosary will be recited 7pm Monday, February 1, 2016 at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Ave NW. Visitation will be 5 - 7 pm Monday at the mortuary and one hour prior to the Mass on Tuesday at the church.

Peter passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2016 at Avera Mother Joseph Manor, Aberdeen, SD.

On December 16, 1958, Peter Adam was born in Leola, SD, to Helmuth and Margaret (Pfeifle) Adam. He attended school in Eureka and graduated from Eureka High School in 1976. Peter entered the United States Navy on December 13, 1978 and served on numerous ships and on all seven continents. Peter awarded multiple military decorations including the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal.

Peter and Tina (Fabre) Adam were united in marriage April 24, 1988 in Tacoma, Washington while serving together at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island.

He received his honorable discharge November 30, 1995 and they moved to Aberdeen, SD where he started his software business "AdamSoft Inc." in 2003.

Peter enjoyed golfing with his friends fishing with his family. Peter was a loving husband, father and friend who will be greatly missed by all.

Preceding Peter in death are his parents.

Grateful and honored to have shared Peter's life are his wife Tina; two sons Jon Adam and Joseph Adam; one brother Allen Adam; and two sisters, Virginia (Greg) Schock and Sharon.
