Pegi A. Stroh was born on April 2, 1953, in Aberdeen, SD, to Leo and Marion (Heintzman) Stroh. She grew up in Aberdeen alongside her siblings, Dave, Bonnie, Ron, and Laurie. Pegi graduated from Central High School and later attended Presentation College, where she studied Medical Transcription. She worked in that field for several years before beginning a long career with Banner Associates, where she remained until her retirement.
In 1979, Pegi married William "Bill" Knox. They had two children, Alisha and Josh. She and Bill later divorced, and Pegi continued to make Aberdeen her home until her passing.
Pegi was truly the life of every party. Known for her quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and occasionally inappropriate (always tasteful) jokes, she found joy in making others laugh and smile. Even throughout her battle with cancer, Pegi remained positive, joking with healthcare staff and teasing her family right up until her final days.
She embraced life with an adventurous spirit and a "fly-by-the-seat-of-her-pants" attitude. Pegi loved to travel and was always ready for her next adventure, near or far. She was a foodie, always asking her family to send photos of their meals, and she had a special love for Texas Roadhouse dinner rolls. She often requested her family bring a McDonald's Coke or a Sprite Lymonade Slushy to her when they visited, as those were “delish” to her!
Her most treasured memories were made on numerous camping trips with her family and spending time together at Wylie Park. Above all, Pegi loved her family. Being a grandmother brought her immense joy and was the greatest pleasure of her life. She cherished every moment spent with her children and grandchildren and loved them beyond measure. Pegi was also an avid Aberdeen Wings fan and enjoyed attending concerts with her family, such as Bruno Mars and Bon Jovi. Among many other attributes, her sense of humor and her caring, spitfire soul will be dearly missed.
Grateful for having shared Pegi's life are her daughter, Alisha Warrey of Aberdeen, SD, and her children, Aaron, Kaylin, Kamryn, and Aadon; her son, Josh Knox of Sioux Falls, SD; her siblings, Dave (Ursula) Stroh of Rapid City, SD, Bonnie (Tony) Bergstrom of Aberdeen, SD, Ron Stroh of Aberdeen, SD, and Laurie Stroh of Aberdeen, SD; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Pegi was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Marion Stroh.
