Paul G. Ness

Paul G. Ness, 94, of Aberdeen, SD passed away Thursday, February 27, 2020 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Aberdeen.

Memorial Service is 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, Aberdeen.

His wishes were to be cremated with burial at a later date at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen.

Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.  Family and friends may sign the online guestbook and also view the service via the live stream service link at www.schriversmemorial.com.

Visitation will be one hour before the service at Schriver’s Mortuary.

Paul Gerhard Ness was born April 9, 1925 to Carl and Karen (Anderson) Ness in Summit, SD. He graduated from Summit High School and started working for the Milwaukee Railroad.

Paul was married to Donna Marie Hammer in Summit on August 17, 1950.  They had two children, Carter Wayne and Jason Paul.  Paul acquired the position of Signal Maintainer and moved to Montevideo, MN.  They later moved to Aberdeen where he was promoted to Signal Supervisor.  Paul was employed with the railroad for 60 years until he retired.  Donna passed away April 14, 2018 and Paul continued to make Aberdeen his home.

In his spare time, Paul enjoyed playing with the dogs and working around his house.

Grateful for having shared his life is his son, Carter Wayne Ness.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Jason Paul, who passed away due to injuries received in a car accident in 1984, six brothers and four sisters.
