Paul Jung, Jr., 68, of Aberdeen, passed away Friday, March 18, 2016, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.
His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 409 2nd Avenue NE, Aberdeen, with Fr. Michael Griffin as celebrant.
Burial, with military honors, will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, at the mortuary, with a liturgical wake service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at church Wednesday.
Paul Jung Jr. was born June 23, 1947, to Paul and Magdalena (Salwei) Jung, Sr. on the family farm in McPherson County. He attended Aberdeen Parochial Schools and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School.
In 1966, Paul entered the United States Air Force and served his country in Vietnam. After receiving his Honorable Discharge in 1970, he returned to Aberdeen.
Paul was united in marriage to Joan Tvinnereim in Las Vegas, NV in November of 1975. The couple made Aberdeen their home and shared 31 years of marriage. Paul was employed with the State of South Dakota as the Area Supervisor for the Driver's License Division for 40 years.
In his spare time, Paul enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, and camping. He was a true "do-it-yourself" handyman and always enjoyed helping others. Above all, Paul loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Grateful to have shared in Paul's life are his children: Jeremy (Joelle) Jung of Maple Grove, MN, Joshua Jung of Aberdeen, and Nichole (Robert) Tupy of Jordan, MN; seven grandchildren: Ashley, Alyssa, Rylee, Savanna, Alayna, Gracyn, and Jillian; and seven siblings: Rose Nolz of Zeeland, ND, Alice Schumacher of Bismarck, ND, Frances (Frank) Weigel of Zeeland, ND, Margie Lovik of Rapid City, SD, Mary Ann (Gerald) Smith of Aberdeen, Caroline (Glenn) Amundson of Mount Prospect, IL, and Thomas (Carol) Jung of Welch, MN.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Paul Sr. and Magdalena; and three brothers: William Jung, Robert Jung, and Anton "Jim" Jung.
