Patricia Ammann

Patricia K. Ammann, 74, of Bowdle, SD, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.

Patricia’s wishes were to be cremated, and no formal services will be held at this time.

Burial will be at a later date at Osceola Cemetery in Marvin, SD.

Patricia K. Ammann was born March 6, 1949, in Grant County, SD, to Roy and Ethel (Harriman) Schliesman. She was raised near Wilmot and graduated from Wilmot High School.

Patricia lived and worked as a farmer’s wife for several years near Wilmot. She eventually moved to Bowdle in 1988, where she made her home until a short stay at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen, where she resided until her passing.

She was a devoted Post Master at many different locations for over 30 years; however, it was hardly work for her as she genuinely enjoyed interacting with and getting to know her customers.

In her free time, Patricia loved planting flowers and enjoyed traveling with friends and attending live music shows.

Grateful for having shared Patricia’s life are her children: Kristia (Jeremy) Thomas of Pierre, SD, and Kyle (Penny) Ammann of Aberdeen, SD; grandsons: Alex (Megan) Thomas of Tolstoy and Austin Thomas of Bowdle, SD; brother, Bob Schliesman of Wilmot, SD; sister, Judy Lauseng of Watertown, SD; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ethel; brothers: Paul, William, James, and Richard Schliesman; and sisters Mary Hatley (Schliesman) and Margaret Chamley (Schliesman).
