Norman A. Denning, 93, of Aberdeen, SD, formerly of Ashley, ND, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.
A Funeral Service will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Schriver's Memorial Chapel, with Pastor Nicole Martin officiating from Zion Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, SD.
A luncheon will follow the service at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center.
Burial will follow the luncheon at Ashley City Cemetery in Ashley, ND.
Visitation will be one hour before the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salvation Army or to plant a tree in Norman’s memory.

Norman August Denning was born May 2, 1932, to John and Lydia (Haupt) Denning on the family farm near Ashley, ND. He attended country school till the 8th grade in Ashley, ND.
Norman was united in marriage to Sharon Woehl on June 18, 1961, at Berlin Baptist Church in Fredonia, ND. He worked on the family farm till 1962. In 1963, they moved to Milpitas, CA, where he worked for General Motors until 1981. Later in life, they moved to Aberdeen, SD, where Norman worked for various organizations, including the YMCA, Construction, and the Salvation Army.
Norman enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, camping, watching westerns, attending concerts (his favorite being Williams and Reed), and spending time with his family. He was a devoted member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Fraternal Order of the Eagles.
Grateful to have shared Norman’s life are his daughter, Norma (Doug) Barrett of Longmont, CO, and one granddaughter, Jamie Barrett of Longmont, CO, two brothers, Glenn Denning of Aberdeen, SD, and Carl Denning of Aberdeen, SD, one sister, Geraldine “Gerry” Berholz of MN, and many nieces and nephews.
Norman is preceded in death by his wife, Sharon Denning; his daughter, Celeste; his parents, John and Lydia (Haupt) Denning; his sisters: Mabel Denning, Lydia Denning, Gloria Denning, Lillie Denning, Gladys Denning, and Bernice Denning; his brothers, Alise Denning, Enoch Denning, and Gerhardt “Gary” Denning.
