Milna "Millie" Delores Fauth

Milna D. Fauth, 91, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at her home.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 10:30 a.m., at St. John's Lutheran Church in Hosmer, with pastor Janet Sandmeier officiating.

Burial will be at Bethany Cemetery in Hosmer following the service.

A time for fellowship and luncheon will follow the burial at the church.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 2, at Schriver Funeral Home, 720 N. 6th Street, Ipswich, South Dakota, with a prayer service beginning at 7:00 p.m.

Milna was born January 26, 1934, to John and Anna (Dusel) Guthmiller on the family farm in McPherson County, SD. She was raised on the farm and graduated from Hosmer High School in 1951. She earned her teaching certificate from NSTC and taught country school for one year.

Milna married Elmer Fauth  May 23, 1952. They moved to New York, where Elmer was stationed during the Korean War.  Upon returning to SD, they purchased the Guthmiller family farm northeast of Hosmer which they operated until 1976 moving to Hosmer in 1977. After moving to Hosmer, she worked for Social Services as a Home Health Aide for 30 years.

She was an active member of St. John's Lutheran Church, teaching Sunday school, singing in the church choir, and serving in various officer positions for WELCA . She was also a long-time member of the Highlighter's Extension Club.

Milna was a woman with many talents.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, painting, gardening, reading, and crossword puzzles.  She cooked many family favorites for holiday dinners.

She is survived by her son, Roy (Jacqueline) Fauth of Miller, SD and their children Stefanie (Martin Lemke) Fauth  and Tracie (Charles Potter) Fauth; daughters, Jacalyn (James) Uhrich of Aberdeen, SD and their children Wade and Rachel, and Anne (Warren) Retzlaff of Wahpeton, ND and their children, Christine (Logan Duffley) Retzlaff and Steven.  She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren Royce, Arthur and Emmett Lemke.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one brother-in-law, and four sister-in-laws.
