Mike Sobolik, 66, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away at Avera St. Luke's Hospital on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at the Brown County Clubhouse at 400 24th Ave NW, Aberdeen, SD, from 1-4 pm, with racing/casual attire preferred.

Mike W. Sobolik was born on April 26, 1958, in Minneapolis, MN. His parents were Samuel & Jane (Cisewski) Sobolik. He attended elementary school in Minneapolis, MN, and high school in Bloomington, MN.
After high school, Mike entered the Air Force as an aircraft mechanic. After being honorably discharged, he returned to make his home in the Minneapolis Metro area. Shortly after, he was married and of that marriage he had two daughters, Tina & Mindy.
He later relocated to the Aberdeen, SD area, where in 1997, while working at the Super 8 Reservation Center, he met the love of his life, Nichole Erdmann. Mike and Nichole were married on May 1, 1999, in Leola, SD. They were blessed to enjoy almost 26 years together, enjoying four-wheeling, snowmobiling, riding motorcycles, & most of all racing.
Mike’s love of racing included racing in both the Minneapolis and Aberdeen areas. He tried his hand at racing figure 8 cars, bombers, pro four modifieds, street stocks, super stocks, Midwest modifieds, and legends. Mike liked to refer to himself as a motorsport connoisseur.
Survivors include his wife, Nichole Sobolik; daughters, Tina Sobolik and Mindy (Jacob) Vander Vorst; grandchildren: Elijah Weller, Isabella Zens, Avalynn Urdahl, Cali Vander Vorst, Dawson Vander Vorst, and Lennon Vander Vorst; siblings Bob (Becky) Sobolik and Kim (Scott) McKay; and beloved pets Otto & Oreo.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Samuel & Jane Sobolik; brother, Jeff Sobolik; nephew, Landon Lind; grandson, Mason Williams; and beloved pets Cuddles, Bandit, Simon, & Wheezy.
