Michael Dean Hoff, 56, of Aberdeen, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at his residence.
His memorial service will be 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 214 SW 7th Avenue, Aberdeen, with Pastor Samuel Bobby officiating.
Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen is handling arrangements.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday.
Michael Dean Hoff was born on February 14, 1960, to Leslie and Vivian A. (Schilling) Hoff in Aberdeen, SD. This is the area where he was raised and attended school, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School with the Class of 1978. Following graduation, Michael was employed with Drager Construction for a few years.
Michael married Cindy Orr on May 27, 1978, in Aberdeen. He later moved to Las Vegas where he became employed as a welder and built casino signs for several years. In 2012, Michael returned to Aberdeen and began Hoff Construction with his brother. He was employed there at the time of his death.
Michael was an avid animal lover and also enjoyed fishing.
Grateful to have shared Michael's life are his parents, Leslie and Vivian Hoff of Aberdeen; two children, Michael Solaas of Denver, CO and Brooke Solaas of Aberdeen; four grandchildren: Taylor, Isabella, Alyzandra, and Jaxon; two brothers, Brad (Kathy) Hoff of Aberdeen and David (Kelly) Hoff of Burlington, WI; and one sister, Lucille Werner of Garland, TX.
Michael is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents.
