Marie Alice Gutenberg, 85, of Aberdeen, passed away Monday, January 4, 2016, at her home.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, January 8, 2016, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 409 2nd Avenue NE, Aberdeen, with Father Mark Axtmann as Celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, at the church, with a liturgical wake service being held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before Mass.
No visitation will take place at the mortuary.
Marie Alice Gutenberg was born October 7, 1930, in Aberdeen, SD, to Michael and Mary (Heier) Gutenberg. She attended St. Mary's parochial school and Aberdeen Central High School. Following high school graduation, Marie became employed as an operator with Northwestern Bell Telephone Company, where she remained until the time of her retirement.
In her spare time, Marie enjoyed crocheting and bowling.
Blessed to have shared Marie's life is her sister, Irene Kraft, of Aberdeen and many nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents.
