Marian Finwall

Marian Finwall, 93, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab nursing home after suffering a stroke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aberdeen.

Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen, following Mass.

A time for fellowship and luncheon will follow burial at the parish hall.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 6, at Schriver’s Memorial Chapel, with a 7:00 p.m. liturgical wake service. Visitation continues one hour before Mass at the church.

Marian Loraine Finwall was born on April 12, 1933, in Nebraska, to Emmet and Hazel (Williams) Doyle.

She was united in marriage to Darrell Finwall on June 6, 1951, in Edgemont, SD. Marian and Darrell moved with their three sons to Aberdeen in 1968. She worked at Control Data for many years until her retirement in 1989.

Marian loved crocheting and tending to her houseplants in her free time.

Marian is survived by her two sons: Ron Finwall of Aberdeen, SD, and Rick Finwall of Groton, SD; her sister DeAnna Schrader of Rapid City, SD; and her two granddaughters, Kelsey Huss of Faulkton, SD, and Ashley Snoddy of Idaho.
