Lorraine M. Stellner, 88, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 pm, Friday, February 9, 2018, at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Ave. NW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Rhia Strohm officiating.

Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery, Aberdeen, followed by a time of fellowship at Schriver’s Memorial Fellowship Center.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.

Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, Aberdeen, is handling arrangements.

Lorraine Mae Swensen was born on October 25, 1929, to Martin S. and Frieda (Bender) Swensen. She grew up in Aberdeen. Lorraine attended school in Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School with the Class of 1947.

Lorraine was united in marriage to H. Lloyd Stellner in 1950. Their union was blessed with one son, Mark. The family made Aberdeen their home where Lorraine was a housewife. Lorraine was involved with the PTA and her church.  She was a member of the church choir and also a soloist.  Lorraine was a member of Daughters of the Nile and Eastern Star.

In 1969, the family moved to St. Louis, MO, where Lloyd worked for the United States Army Aviation Systems Command. The family moved again in 1977 to Aberdeen, MD, where Lloyd accepted the position of Supervisory Contracting Officer at the Aberdeen Proving Ground. In 1982, Lorraine and Lloyd returned to Aberdeen after Lloyd retired.

Grateful to have shared Lorraine’s life are her son, Mark (Chris) Stellner of St. Louis, Mo; three grandchildren: Mark (Alyssa) Stellner, Stephanie Stellner, and Nicole Stellner.

Lorraine’s husband, parents, and two half-brothers, preceded her in death.
