Lonnie Maxwell Styron Jr. was born on February 20, 1945, in Friend, Nebraska, to Lonnie M. Styron Sr. and Doris P. Pearson.

As a young child, Lonnie and his family moved frequently due to his parents’ job opportunities. He spent much of his childhood in Foley, Alabama, and Pensacola, Florida, until he settled in South Dakota, where he attended and graduated from Miller High School.

He attended Vo-Tech school and trained to become an electrician. Lonnie Jr. worked as a non-union electrician before joining the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers). There, he became a journeyman wireman/welder, demonstrating true craftsmanship in his field.

In his free time, Lonnie Jr. especially enjoyed working on cars and fishing. He was a tomato and beer connoisseur, and he always appreciated a good game of cards. Throughout his life, he formed many special relationships with friends near and far and developed numerous meaningful friendships that were, and forever will be, highly cherished.

Lonnie is survived by his wife, Cindy Schwan; step-sons, Chris Schwan and Cory Schwan; granddaughters, Emily, Addison, Brooklyn, and Sawyer Schwan; stepmother, Shelby Sasser; sister, Sheryl Langford; niece, Stacey McCormick; nephews, Leighton Langford and Michael Langford; and many cousins and extended family members.

Lonnie was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; first wife, Barbara Reck; and numerous aunts and uncles.
