Lois Faye Huffman

Lois Faye Huffman, 72, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Friday, June 9, 2023, at her home.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at the Cogswell Community Center in Cogswell, ND.

Burial will be at Sagent Cemetery in Cogswell, ND.

Lois Faye (Kadoun) Huffman was born in Britton, SD on April 12, 1951 to Marvin James Kadoun and Iris Rosaley (Stabnow) Kadoun of Cogswell, ND. She returned to our Heavenly Father on June 9, 2023 at the age of 72.

Childhood years for Lois were spent on their family farm near Brampton, ND. She attended school in Cogswell for first through eighth grades and graduated from Sargent Central High School in Forman, ND in 1969.

Lois married Larry Lee Huffman of Brampton, ND on September 6, 1969 at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Brampton. Together they farmed and raised two children before retiring from farming in 1994. They then held down jobs away from the farm. Lois worked for JJ’s Cafe in Forman, ND until it closed. She then worked at Martinson’s Home Center in Forman and later managed a TV & Appliance Store in Britton, SD until it closed in 1998. In the spring of that year Lois moved to Aberdeen for work and Larry followed in the fall.

Lois had several hobbies over the years including wood working, painting with oils and acrylics, card making, sewing, quilting, embroidering, wood burning and ceramics. She often set up at shows in her younger years to sell her artwork. Lois also enjoyed fishing from their pontoon and spending time at their lake cabin. Watching birds and squirrels at her feeders was also a favorite past time for Lois after the loss of her husband in 2013.

Lois is survived by her children, Joe Huffman; Jennifer (Sean) Nelson; mother, Iris Meyer; brothers, Donnie Kadoun and Bob Kadoun; sister Diane Pierson; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Lois was proceeded in death by Larry, her husband of 47 years; father, Marvin Kadoun; step-father, Marvin Meyer; and several aunts & uncles. She will be missed greatly by her children, family, friends, and her beloved dog & companion, Ladybug.
