Lila Muldoon

Lila Mae Muldoon, 87 of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Tuesday, October 18, 2022, at Bethesda Home in Aberdeen.

A private Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 22, at Schriver’s Memorial Chapel.  Pastor Eldon Reich will be officiating.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

A public visitation will be Friday, October 21, from 6-7 p.m., at Schriver’s Memorial Chapel.

Lila Mae Heim was born November 25, 1934, to Lloyd and Clara (Knudson) Heim in Aberdeen.  Lila was raised in the Aberdeen area where she attended school.  She married Joseph Michael Muldoon in Aberdeen on October 22, 1953.  To this union six children were born; Barbara, Janice, Dianne, Dawn, Michael, and Roger.  They made their home in the Westport area where they farmed for many years.

She later started working at St. Luke’s Hospital as a Nurse Assistant.  She also worked at various nursing homes in Aberdeen and the surrounding area.  Joseph died in May of 1999.  Lila continued to reside on the farm for several years and later moved to Aberdeen.  Lila was an avid reader, and she enjoyed baking and embroidering.

Grateful for having shared Lila’s life are her children: Barb Daugherty of Huron, SD, Janice (Tim) Hofer of Aberdeen, Michael (Connie) Muldoon of Aberdeen, Roger Muldoon of Aberdeen; son-in-law Richard Schmahl of Aberdeen; eight grandchildren: Bredan Muldoon, Colin Muldoon, Melissa (Ryan) Tauer, Nicholas Daughtery, Sarah Daughtery, Mandie (Sean Kearns) Whitmer, Matthew (Jessica) Schmahl, and Ashley (Grason) Lechner; three brothers: Don (Judy) Heim of Watertown, SD, Glen (Kathy) Heim of Gillette, WY, and Loren Heim of Bottineau, ND; three sisters: Thelma (Bill) Bess of Sacramento, CA, Olive Kingsford of Arkansas, and Irene Campbell of Toronto, CA.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two daughters: Dianne Schmahl and Dawn Muldoon; grandson Robert Muldoon; son-in-law Rick Daugherty; two brothers; and two sisters.
