Lidwina Murray, 93, of Aberdeen, passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015, at her home in Aberdeen.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 18, 2015, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 409 2nd Avenue NE, Aberdeen, with Father Mark Axtmann as celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Thursday, at the mortuary with a liturgical wake service and rosary being held at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour prior to Mass at church on Friday.
Lidwina (Geffre) Murray was born December 28, 1921 to Steven and Elizabeth (Brendel) Geffre in Leola, SD. She grew up on the family farm near Leola and attended country school.
Lidwina was united in marriage to Eugene Murray on June 22, 1943, in Leola, SD. The couple made Aberdeen their home where Lidwina was employed at the Virginia CafAC. for several years before working at and eventually purchasing with her husband the Sportsman Bar. After 15 years of managing the establishment, the couple retired after it burned down.
Lidwina and Eugene shared over 43 years of marriage and cared for four children before he passed away on January 2, 1985. Lidwina continued to make Aberdeen her life-long home until the time of her death.
Grateful to have shared in Lidwina's life are her children: David (Kathy) Murray of Stratford, SD, Joanne Traphagen of Aberdeen, Carolyn Hildebrand of Minneapolis, MN, and Anna (Patrick) Cahill of Great Falls, MT; 16 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and 12 great great-grandchildren.
Lidwina was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, one granddaughter, her parents, three brothers, and one sister.
