Lawrence Edwin Wiseman was born April 7, 1930, in Quincy, IL to Hugh and Anna (Friedich) Wiseman.  He was raised and attended school in Emden, MO until 1945, when at the age of 15, Lawrence and his family moved to a farm near Mansfield, SD (a place they had discovered while traveling and helping on a threshing crew in North Dakota).  He began working on the farm with Art Dahme, who later married his sister, Joyce Ann.

Lawrence was united in marriage to Jeanette Hobus in Aberdeen, SD on September 21, 1955.  They lived on multiple farms near Mansfield, Turton and Ipswich and in 1964, they made their permanent home on a farm near Aberdeen.  Lawrence and Jeanette greatly enjoyed traveling and visited every state west of the Mississippi and Canada.  The couple wintered in Texas for 38 years, where fishing was a favorite activity, as well as visiting Mexico.  Lawrence also enjoyed hunting quail in his old territory in Missouri.  He was always young at heart and loved snowmobiling with his kids, often having just as much fun as them, if not more!  He also learned to waterski at the age of 50 and enjoyed skiing for many years following.  Lawrence and Jeanette raised two sons and shared 64 years of marriage before she passed away on December 30, 2019.  He continued to live on the farm until the time of his death.

Grateful to have shared Lawrence’s life are his sons, Gary (Viloria) Wiseman and Eddy (Paula Ozanne) Wiseman; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three sisters:  Dorothy Bossly, Marilyn Lehr, and Joyce Ann Dahme.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette; his parents, Hugh and Anna; and three brothers-in-law.
