Following high school, Larry enlisted in the South Dakota Army National Guard as Cannon Crewman with Battery A, 2nd Battalion, 147th Field Artillery, and was honorably discharged from the SDARNG in 1993 at the rank of Sergeant.
During his service with the SDARNG, Larry attended and graduated from Mitchell Technical Institute with a welding degree and went to work for Webb Manufacturing in Kidder, SD, building Bale Movers.
Larry was united in marriage to Pamela Johnson on April 20, 1990, in Britton, SD. Larry worked at Horton Industries in Britton, and when the family moved to Aberdeen, SD, he began working at Safeguard (Hub City, Inc.), where he worked for 33 years. He was most recently employed with BAE Systems, where he worked at the time of his death.
Larry enjoyed hunting and fishing and was always looking forward to the next outing. He also enjoyed gardening and going to all of the family functions. You could normally find him tinkering in the garage, and he always accepted the challenge of fixing anything.
