Lawrence Reinbold, 86, of Aberdeen, passed away Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor in Aberdeen.

Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 409 2nd Avenue NE, Aberdeen, with Father Mark Axtmann as celebrant.

Burial, with military rites conducted by Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post #24 of Aberdeen, will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, at the mortuary, followed by a liturgical wake service and rosary at 7:00 p.m.  Visitation continues one hour prior to Mass at church on Wednesday.

Lawrence Reinbold was born June 23, 1930, to Ignatius and Johanna (Zacher) Reinbold in Strasburg, ND.  This is the area where he was raised and received his education.  At a young age, Lawrence and his family moved to Aberdeen, where he worked several odd jobs.

Lawrence was united in marriage to Violet Geiszler on September 10, 1951, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Aberdeen.  Shortly thereafter, Lawrence entered the United States Army and served his country while stationed in Korea.  Following his honorable discharge in June of 1953, Lawrence returned to Aberdeen where he was employed at Voight Buick Garage for many years.  He then began what would become a 25-year career at Safelite Auto.  Following retirement, Lawrence continued working part-time at Presentation College for an additional ten years.  He continued to make Aberdeen his home until the time of his death.

Lawrence was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, VFW Post #17, Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post #24, Elks Lodge #1046 and Loyal Order Of The Moose Lodge #590, all in Aberdeen.

Lawrence is survived by his wife of 65 years, Violet Reinbold of Aberdeen; four children:  Deborah Ann Pomrenke of Phoenix, AZ, Pam (Jerome “Jerry”) Varilek of Yankton, SD, Jackie (Richard) Rouleau of Mina, SD and Larry Reinbold of Aberdeen; five grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; and one sister, Johanna (Keith) Larson of Aberdeen.

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Pete (Viola) Reinbold; and one sister, Angie Ibarra.
