Laurie Ann Lingor was gifted to her family by God on January 26, 1972, in Aberdeen, SD. She was chosen to live with her Lord and Savior on March 25, 2016.
Laurie Ann was the apple of her family's eye. Big blue eyes and blonde curls made her irresistible. She was strong-willed and had a heart of gold. Laurie Ann was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aberdeen, SD. She later joined the Catholic Church to unite her family in faith. The rituals of the Catholic faith brought her much comfort. She was an animal lover and always had a dog or two that were treated with tender loving care. Laurie was a "lake girl" and spent many summers enjoying the family cabins at Enemy Swim Lake, Richmond Lake, and Mina Lake. She graduated from Aberdeen Central High School, where she was a member of the varsity tennis team and a cheerleader.
Laurie Ann was united in marriage to the love of her life, Roger Lingor, on November 7, 1992. Together they made a perfect pair and were blessed with two beautiful sons, Luke William and Samuel Micah. The boys were the light of Laurie's life. Hockey games and tennis matches filled her weekends with her precious boys and oh how she loved them!
Laurie Ann was employed at United Clinic in Aberdeen for 15 years. Upon moving to Rapid City, SD, she returned to her love of tennis and began giving tennis lessons at Black Hills Tennis Center. This allowed her to begin coaching tennis and to become the boys and girls tennis coach for St. Thomas Moore High School in Rapid City. The love of family brought them back to Aberdeen, where she began coaching tennis at Aberdeen Roncalli High School. Her competitive spirit led her to encourage her tennis kids to always strive to be the best they could be, both on and off the court. She combined her two loves of working with kids and cooking as an employee at Aberdeen Roncalli in the food service area.
Blessed to have shared her life are her husband, Roger, and her sons, Luke William and Samuel Micah. Also surviving Laurie Ann are her parents, Dennis and Flora Hanson; her brothers: Mark (Peggy) Hanson, Michael (Mary) Hanson, and Monte (Brenda) Hanson; and her sister, Jodi (Jeff) Bendt. Roger's family was also very special to Laurie. Her brothers and sisters-in-law include: Dan P. (Jean) Lingor, Doug (Robbie) Lingor, Patti Maunu, Greg (Doris) Lingor, Sharon (Dennis) Ragels, Carol (Randy) Pueppke and David (Shelly) Lingor. Laurie Ann also had 28 nieces and nephews who were all very important to her. They will always remember her red nails and lipstick, and how she always found a way to make each of them feel special.
Greeting her in heaven are her grandparents, Earl and Ilah Hanson, C. Monroe and Mary Simons; her special great-grandma, Hilda Olson; her father and mother-in-law, Dan and Esther Lingor; her sister-in-law, Pam Lingor and her brother-in-law, Mark Eugene Hanson.
We will miss our precious Laurie Ann every day. She will live on in her sons, Luke and Samuel. We love you Laurie Ann, you will be forever in our hearts.
