Kyle Anthony Tempel was born on January 29, 1988, to Craig and DeeAnna (George) Tempel in Watertown, South Dakota.  He was raised there until the family moved to Aberdeen in 1999.  Kyle attended school at Roncalli.  He played football and was part of the back-to-back 2005 and 2006 Cavalier Football Championship Teams. His nickname on the football team was “the pinball.” Kyle was also a talented wrestler and excelled in any sport he tried! Kyle graduated from Roncalli High School in 2007.

Following high school, Kyle became a Journeyman and worked for Mattern Electric, Schwan Electric, and most recently, Magnum Electric.  He was talented and hardworking and always took pride in his work.  He was well respected by his co-workers, friends, and everyone he met along the way. Kyle traveled across South Dakota, North Dakota, Minnesota, and, briefly, Montana, working as a journeyman and helping with the oil fields.

Kyle and his lifelong partner, Robin Loebs, began their life together in 2008.  They were blessed with Peyton Elizabeth on January 1, 2010, and Carter Anthony on May 23, 2011. The family made their home in Aberdeen. Kyle was an amazing father and partner and loved spending time with his family.  They enjoyed their family trips together.

Kyle was very adventurous and could be described as a handful at times, in the best way. He was a risk-taker and a giver, fun-loving, and his easygoing style was apparent to all. Kyle enjoyed fishing, riding his Harley Davidson Street Glide motorcycle, and snowmobile trips to Idaho, Wyoming, and Colorado.  He was known as the “Go-to guy” for advice on vehicles and problems in general.  He had a deep passion for rebuilding pickups. Anyone who knew him knew he sure loved his steak and potatoes. He also played in a pool league and casually at the bars and loved to arm wrestle.  Kyle loved animals, and they easily loved him in return.  He was very fond of their family dog, Bella, who passed away in 2022. Above all, Kyle was always so loving to Robin and his children, and he had an irreplaceable bond with his siblings.

Kyle will be greatly missed by all who experienced his selflessness. Kyle left a lasting legacy of generosity with his decision to be an organ donor, saving several people’s lives around the country.

Grateful for having shared Kyle’s life are his lifelong partner, Robin Loebs of sixteen years; his children Peyton and Carter; his mother, DeeAnna Tempel of Westport, SD; his sister Katie Tempel of Aberdeen; his two brothers, Casey Tempel of Chancellor, SD, and Chase (Bailey) Tempel of Garretson, SD; his grandma Millie Tempel of Wilmot, SD; his nieces and nephews; Jamie, Wyatt, Grady, and Sylvie; and many friends.

Kyle was preceded in death by his father, Craig Tempel; his grandparents, Cletus & Darla George; and his grandpa, Gerald Tempel.
