Kristine "Kris" Ann Schultz, 71, of Winona, MN, passed away on February 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness, and will be deeply missed.
A Memorial Service and celebration of Kris' life will be held at First Evangelical Church, 141 Mill St, Minnesota City, MN 55959, at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026. Visitation will be one hour before the service.
Kristine will be laid to rest in a family burial at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Norton at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Minnesota City.

Kristine was born August 29, 1954, in Winona to Donald and Nancy (Anderson) Gensmer. She graduated from Lewiston High School in 1972, then continued her education at the Vo-Tech school, where she became a secretary. Her first job was with the state of Minnesota in Minneapolis. She then returned to Winona and worked for Fiberite as a secretary for several years, and held other secretarial positions most recently.
She was baptized at St Martin's Lutheran Church. She attended church at First Evangelical Church in Minnesota City, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and active member of the congregation. She was united in marriage to Gary Schultz on May 4, 1984, at the same church she grew up in.
Growing up in Rollingstone, she was able to keep horses, which she enjoyed riding, with her family. She gave up that when she had children, but when her daughters got older, she got back on the horse. She enjoyed visiting Julie at their farm in South Dakota. She also loved the companionship of dogs, having several throughout her life.
Kristine is survived by her husband, Gary; daughters: Heidi (Chad) Heath and Julie (Jesse) Morehouse; mother, Nancy Gensmer; sister, Kim (Arlo) Thorsness; grandsons: Wyatt, Jacob, Skyler, Emmett, and Sawyer; her in-laws; cousins; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Gensmer; paternal grandparents, Ervin and Selma Gensmer; and maternal grandparents, Walfred and Ada Anderson.
