Kenneth “Kenny” Eugene Miller was born to Edver and Faye (Shore) Miller on January 30, 1939, in Columbia, SD. Kenny, endearingly known as “Tubby”, attended school in Columbia until the ninth grade. After his father passed away in 1953, the family moved to Waubay, SD. He graduated from Waubay High School with honors in 1957. He was very proud to be a guard on the 1955 Waubay Dragons basketball team at the state championship.
His love for sports continued, regularly playing basketball, softball, and especially bowling. He met the love of his life, Carol Ann, bowling at the Village Bowl in Aberdeen, and she really sparked a twinkle in his eye. The pair were united in marriage on June 5th, 1993, and they would have celebrated their 31st anniversary this year.
Kenny’s passion for farming and love for animals were evident as he spent many mornings at the sale barns and countless hours watching cattle auctions online. He has a remarkable way with dogs, and never met one that didn’t like him.
Kenny’s family will never forget his heart of gold and contagious laugh. His grandkids will honor him by eating ice cream for breakfast and saying “WHAT-everrr,” which was his go-to word!
Grateful and honored to share Kenneth’s life are his wife, Carol Ann Miller; daughters, Lori (Mark) Simon and Robyn (Bradley) Morgan; stepchildren Scott (Shelly) Lane and Lori (Nick) Nielsen; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and one on the way in September.
Kenny was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Maurice Miller and Art Miller; and sisters Pat Bell, Wanda Edwards, and Bonnie Weist.
