Kathleen Manning

Kathleen Alice Manning, 74, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2024, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital, Aberdeen.

Kathleen’s wishes were to be cremated, and no formal services will be held.

Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Pierre, SD.

Kathleen was born to Kenneth “Bud” and Lois (Brink) Manning in Pierre, SD. She attended school in Pierre and graduated from Riggs High School.

Following high school Kathleen attended Northern State College in Aberdeen. After college, Kathleen moved to Minneapolis, where she worked for Republic Airlines until her retirement in 1995. She then started her own craft business, Kathie’s Dollies and Follies.

In 1998, Kathleen moved back to Pierre, to care for her mother. In 1999, Kathleen moved to Aberdeen, where her niece lived, and placed her mother in a nursing home.

Kathleen loved doing crafts and shopping online, but most of all, Kathie enjoyed holidays with her family. Christmas was a huge deal to her. She loved making her annual lobster and crab legs and showering the family with gifts. Family Christmas will never be the same without her.

Kathleen is survived by her nephew, Bryce Manning of Pierre, SD; niece, Jodi (Mark) Remily, and their son, Ashton Remily, of Aberdeen, SD; brother Kenneth Manning Jr, of Pierre, SD; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Kathy Manning.
