June L. Friske, 83, of Aberdeen, passed away Monday, September 15, 2014, at ManorCare Health Services in Aberdeen.
Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, September 18, 2014, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Marcia Sylvester officiating.
A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center.
Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery in Aberdeen at a later date.
Visitation, with family present, will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the mortuary. Friends may sign her online guestbook at schriversmemorial.com.
In lieu of flowers, June's family prefers memorials sent to the charity of your choice.
June Lillian Wolff, daughter of Gottlieb and Ida (Delker) Wolff, was born on June 4, 1931, in Eureka, South Dakota. This is the area where she was raised and attended school until her freshman year of high school, when June and her mother moved to Aberdeen. June then attended and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School in 1949.
June was united in marriage to Robert Friske on April 22, 1950. The couple made their home in Aberdeen. June worked at JC Penney's until they started their family, when June became a full-time mother and homemaker.
June was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church in Aberdeen. She enjoyed the family's cabin at Richmond Lake and also enjoyed snowmobiling and sewing. June especially loved spending time with her family.
Grateful for having shared June's life are her husband of 64 years, Robert (Bob) Friske of Aberdeen; her daughters and son: Penny (Richard) Biegler, of Aberdeen, Linda (Jay) Johnson, of Groton, Sandi (Mike) Pederson of Watertown, and Robert "Bob" D. Friske of Aberdeen; grandchildren: Matthew (Becky) Biegler and their daughter, Maddilyn; JR (Paula) Johnson and their sons, Ryder and Asher, TJ (Samantha) Johnson and their son, Titan, Ann Pederson, and Adam (Brittany) Pederson and their children: Jada, Jordan and Jayce; her adopted granddaughter, Nikki (Mary) Julian and their children: Cadence and Christian.
June was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, and three brothers.
