Judith Ann Hornaman

Judith Ann Hornaman, 90, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2023, at Avera Mother Joseph Manor.

A Memorial Service will be on Thursday, 11:00 a.m., October 19, 2023, at Schriver’s Memorial Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery following the Memorial Service.

A time of fellowship and a luncheon will follow the burial at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center.

Judith Ann Kunkel was born on November 17, 1932, to George and Marion (Devine) Kunkel in Aberdeen. She was raised in Aberdeen and attended St. Mary’s school and graduated from Central High School in 1950. Judy married Fred Hornaman Jr. on January 7, 1953, at Sacred Heart Church in Aberdeen. They were blessed with five children: Tim, Julie, Wendy, Dan, and Jay. Judy and Fred were married for 47 years.  Fred passed away on October 5, 2000.

Judy was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Parish and a dedicated member of the Altar Society Band 11. She also enjoyed working on crossword puzzles

Grateful for having shared Judy’s life are her children: Tim (Josie) Hornaman, Julie (Kevin) McGannon, and Wendy (Ricky) Hunter; six grandchildren: Amy (Shane) Olson, Dr. Kelly (Patrick) Steffen, Kari Mitchell, Scott (Thyra) Karsky, Abby McGannon, Brian McGannon; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sons: Dan and Jay; and her sister, Marilyn Daniels.
