Joyce Schnaible, 83, of Aberdeen, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Aberdeen Health and Rehab.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 5, 2016, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 214 7th Avenue SW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Samuel Bobby officiating.

Joyce’s wishes were to be cremated with interment taking place at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Aberdeen.

No visitation will take place prior to the service.

Joyce Schnaible was born April 28, 1933, in Mound City, South Dakota to Christ and Helen (Wolfer) Schnaible. They later moved to Oakes, North Dakota, where she graduated high school.

After graduation, she moved to Aberdeen, South Dakota where she began her 40-year career with Northwestern Public Service. During those 40 years, Joyce served in many areas including Executive Assistant to the CEO. She took great pride in her career and missed very few days of work. Following her retirement, she continued to make Aberdeen her home until the time of her death.

Joyce was a beautiful soul who always thought of her family and friends before herself. She was a lifetime member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and a strong believer in Jesus Christ. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, along with a good discussion on current events.

Joyce is survived by two nephews and two nieces: Todd Tunby of Laguna Hills, CA, Timothy Tunby of Columbia, SD, Dianne Tunby of Wahpeton, ND and Denise (Tunby) Baker of Breckenridge, MN; one great-nephew, Kristopher Tunby of Columbia, SD; one great-niece; Ariana Tougas of Breckenridge, MN; and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Lester Schnaible; her sister, Mabel (Schnaible) Tunby; her nephew, Thomas Tunby; and her great-nephew Nicholas Tougas.
