Joyce Nadine Jensen

Joyce Nadine Jensen, 82, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Friday, December 15, 2023, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.

Her Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Aberdeen, with Pastor Jacob Smith officiating.

Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery following the service.

A time of fellowship and luncheon will follow the burial at the church hall.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, Dec 20, with a 7:15 pm prayer service at Schriver’s Memorial Chapel. Visitation continues one hour before the service at the church.

Joyce Nadine Criddle was born on September 30, 1941, to Albert and Lillian (Keller) Criddle. She grew up on a farm in rural Warner, SD, and graduated from Warner High School. Joyce then attended Northern State College where she attained her degree.

Joyce married Billy Jensen on October 12, 1962, in Aberdeen, SD and they were happily married for 47 years.  They joyfully raised 9 children while farming various grain crops and raising livestock in rural Aberdeen.  Nothing brought her greater joy than raising her children, farming with Bill, and taking care of her many grandchildren.

She has been a dedicated member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church for many years.  Joyce’s hobbies included crafts, painting, baking, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Grateful for having shared Joyce’s life are her children: John (Lisa) Jensen, Richard Jensen, Joel (Sarah) Jensen, Rhonda (Ron) Hilsendeger, Keith (Becky) Jensen, Lisa (Thad) Olson, Molly (Michael) Ringgenberg, Jill (Chad) Nelson, and Alan Jensen; 23 grandchildren: Dallas, Brittany, Laura, Mark, Bryan, Kathy, Cody, Casey, Lillian, Elizabeth, Nichole, Jared, Cassandra, Desirae, Symone, Baily, Katelyn, Logan, Carson, Austin, McKayla, Morgan, and Taylor; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband Billy; brothers Warren Criddle, Earl Criddle; and sister Opal Krause.
