Joseph J. Sterzinger, Jr. was born March 19, 1959, in Mankato, MN, to Joseph and Margaret "Peg" (Berks) Sterzinger. As a young child, his family moved to Aberdeen, SD, where he attended school and graduated from Aberdeen Roncalli High School with the Class of 1977.

Following graduation, Joe began working at the Village Inn, where he met Deborah K. Moffenbier. Joe and Deb were united in marriage on October 15, 1980. Their union was blessed with two beautiful daughters, Jessica Kay and Sarah Marie.

In 1983, Joe became employed at Sooper Stop in Aberdeen, where he remained employed until the time of his death. Joe enjoyed the morning "Coffee Club" at Sooper Stop and gained numerous life-long friendships through these gatherings. It was at Sooper Stop where he met his best friend, Doug Wald.

Joe's free time was spent listening to Bob Dylan, going to auctions and rummage sales, painting and restoring antique furniture, and watching "The Antiques Roadshow". He was a handyman who could not say "no" to anyone. Joe was always there to help when anyone needed him, many times without even having to be asked.

Above all, Joe loved his family. He was a hero not only to both of his daughters, but also to his four spectacular grandchildren: Quinn Gabriel Ossanna, Livia Kay Anderson, Masen Reid Anderson and Harper Marie Ossanna. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Any extra free time was spent with his best friend and daughter, Sarah Ossanna, and his grandson, Quinn. Blessed be his memory.

Grateful for having Joe in their lives are Deb Sterzinger; daughters: Jessica (Travis) Anderson and Sarah (Fred) Ossanna; loving grandchildren: Quinn, Livia, Masen and Harper; siblings: Frank (Darla) Sterzinger, Mary (Pat) Kellar, Charlie (Shelli) Sterzinger, Billy Sterzinger, Katie (Steve) Meier, Barbara (Fred) Wollman and Peter (Jodi) Sterzinger; and many nieces and nephews.

Joe is preceded in death by his mother, Margaret "Peg"; father, Joseph; and his maternal and paternal grandparents.
