Joan Beverly Bonnet

Joan Beverly Bonnet, 78, Leola, died April 17, 2015, at her home in Leola.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2015, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen. Pastor Don Peck will be officiating.

Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Aberdeen.

Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, Aberdeen, is handling arrangements.

Visitation is 5-7 p.m., Tuesday, April 21st, at the mortuary, with a prayer service with a time of sharing at 7:00. Visitation continues one hour before the funeral.

Joan Beverly Bonnet was born on January 12, 1937 in Philadelphia, PA, to Fred and Sarah (Miller) Salem. While she was born in Philly, she was raised in California, where she met Marvin. The couple married on October 14, 1971, in San Diego, CA, and later their family moved to Aberdeen, SD. First and foremost, Joan took care of her family. She later began working at Walmart until she retired after 16 years.

Joan enjoyed bingo, bowling, collecting angel figurines and gathering with the ladies for coffee. She was a member of Leola Methodist Church.

Grateful for having shared Joan's life is her husband of 43 years, Marvin Bonnet of Leola; her three children: Lynda Bailey of Leola, SD, Marvin (Michelle) Bonnet, Jr. of Aberdeen, SD, and Donald J. Bonnet of Aberdeen, SD; stepchildren: Cindy Simpson, Diane Toth, and Nancy Morleas; grandchildren: Mikayla Bonnet, Terry Bailey, Jr., Candi Bailey, Shain Simpson, and Rachel Hogan; great-grandchildren: Logan Gordon, Anthony Simpson, Daniel Gordon, and Danielle Bailey; one brother, Freddie Vandaver; and one sister, Kathleen Salem.

Joan was preceded into death by her parents; one son, Daniel Revees; and one brother, Buddy Vandaver.
