J.J. Gese

J.J. (Joanne Judith) Gese, 69, of Aberdeen, SD, left us to join her heavenly family on September 4, 2024, after a courageous and faith-filled battle with cancer.

J.J. was born to Bill and Alice (Hatzenbeller) Gese on August 28, 1955. She grew up in Aberdeen and finished high school in Agar, SD. J.J. worked in Aberdeen after earning her degree from the Aberdeen School of Commerce. She made friends easily and was loved because she simply loved everyone. The term “Sweet Heart” defined her perfectly.

J.J. was a wonderful sister who made everyone laugh or roll their eyes with her “Gese” humor. She especially loved, and was loved, by her nieces and nephews.

Welcoming J.J. to Heaven are her parents; sister, Linda; and all her little dogs.

She will be missed by siblings Ginger (Dick) Westra, Bob (Linda) Fahlin, Bill (Pam) Gese, Marolyn (Pete) Burckhard, Michael (Brenda) Gese, and Barb (Dave) Sorenson; all her nieces, nephews, and large extended family.

J.J. adored her chihuahua, RaMona Lisa, who will miss her greatly. The family prefers that any memorials be sent to the Aberdeen Humane Society or Pet Rescue League in Aberdeen.

A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
