Jerome "Jerry" Lingor

April 4, 1936 — February 1, 2021

Jerome (Jerry) Lingor 84, peacefully passed away after a long battle of Cancer on February 1, 2021 at the VA Hospice in Phoenix, AZ.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aberdeen, SD. Burial with Military Rights will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Aberdeen.

Jerome was born on April 4th, 1936 to Adam Lingor and Josephine (Daschel) Lingor as the last born of their 9 children in Aberdeen, SD. He attended school at St. Mary’s Catholic School, Aberdeen Central High School, and Northern State University. He was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church

Jerome enlisted into the National Guard and then the U. S. Air Force serving his country in Guam where he received a Purple Heart.

After returning from the Military Service, he met Frances Malsom Dec 1957. (He did not like the long name of Frances and always called her Fran). He married the love of his life in 1958 where 3 children later joined them.

Throughout the years Jerome worked at Dahme Construction, McLaughlin Electric (25 yrs), Aberdeen TV and Appliance (13 yrs) till retirement in 1998. During this time, he was also an Electric Inspector for 66 Hutterite Colonies in SD, ND, and MN.

He shared his love of fishing and hunting with his siblings, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and friends.

Grateful for sharing his life are his wife Frances of 63 years and children; Vickie Schrenk, Gary Lingor, and Denise Guthmiller; grandchildren; Chris (Ronna) Schrenk, Lisa Schrenk, Marty (Amanda) Duvall, Bobby (Jessica) Duvall, Jeremy Lingor and Shelby (Tony) Shank: great-grandchildren; Braeden Schrenk, Connor Schrenk, Gage Duvall, Landyn Duvall, Olivia Duvall, Caleb Lingor, Jeremy Jr. Lingor. Along with one brother Earl (Marge) Lingor and one brother-in-law, Marvin Hovland.

Preceding his death were his parents, brothers Bob (Mary), Clem (Gertie), George (Joyce), Dan (Esther), Paul (Jean); 2 sisters Marie and Ruth, daughter-in-law Lynda Lingor; sister-in-law Ann Lingor, and one Great Grandson.
