Jerome "Jerry" D. Batch, 77, of Aberdeen, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at his home. His wishes were to be cremated.

Jerry's memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at Schriver's Memorial Mortuary & Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Father Michael Griffin officiating.

A luncheon and time of fellowship will immediately follow the service at Schriver's Memorial Fellowship Center.

Burial will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Aberdeen.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, at the mortuary, with a public prayer service and time of sharing at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour prior to the service at the mortuary on Tuesday.

Jerome "Jerry" D. Batch was born February 26, 1938, in Aberdeen, SD to James and Anna (Blando) Batch. This is the area where he was raised and attended school, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School in 1956.

In 1957 Jerry enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country on the U.S.S Stembel.

Jerry was united in marriage to Marilyn M. Bruns on June 3, 1961, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Ellsworth, Minnesota. Their union was blessed with two daughters and four sons. The family made Aberdeen their home where Jerry was employed as a brick mason for over 40 years. Most recently he worked for B & H Masonry and remained there until retiring in 2003. He continued to reside in Aberdeen until the time of his death.

Jerry was an avid reader and enjoyed watching Country Western shows. Jerry also enjoyed boating and canoeing with his family and friends.

Grateful to have shared in Jerry's life is his wife, Marilyn Batch of Aberdeen; his children: Jeanne (Clay) Spellman of Aberdeen, Julie (George) Grote of Aberdeen, James (Cheryl) Batch of Denver, CO, Joseph (Kathy) Batch of Prior Lake, MN, Kevin Batch of Aberdeen and Jason Batch of Denver, CO; his grandchildren: Chaz Spellman, Skyler (Taylor) Spellman, Zane Spellman, Gage Grote, Katie Grote, Amanda Martinez, Dylan Batch, Jenna Batch, Cody Batch and Kyle Batch; great-grandchildren: Isaiah Martinez and Micah Martinez; one brother, Robert (Helga) Batch of Tucson, AZ; and one sister, Alice Draper of Bullhead, AZ.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Bill Batch and Richard Batch; and one sister, Irene Batch, who died at birth.
