Jeffrey J. Ochs was born to Louis “Bud” and MaryAnn (Dugan) Ochs on September 27, 1971, in Aberdeen, SD, where he grew up and graduated from Central High School with the class of 1990. Jeff was a part of Aberdeen Central’s 1988 State AA Basketball Team. He later attended Northern State University, graduating in 1994 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology.

Financial securities and investments were where he found his career niche, serving as an insurance specialist for Fifth Third Securities, American General Life Insurance, and AIG Capital Services, Inc. He later became VP of National Accounts at Insurance Designers of Kansas City and, prior to his passing, served as Regional Vice President at Huntington National Bank.

Jeff enjoyed hunting, fishing, and most things outdoors. He especially loved racing, starting with dirt bikes behind the Boys & Girls Club and then 4-Wheelers behind Honest John’s. In the 90s, he began snowmobile racing, entering the Polaris XLT 580 and later becoming an owner and builder of the #60 sled, racing both cross country and oval tracks, winning world championships at Eagle River as well as championships in MIRA. Jeff also raced Dirt Track Modified Cars for nearly ten years, starting in 2007 at East Bay Raceway in Florida, then racing at his home track in Gas City, Indianapolis. Above all, he cherished people—listening to their stories and sharing himself generously with those around him.

Jeff is survived by three brothers: David (Annette) Ochs, Thomas (Ella) Ochs, and William (Amanda) Ochs; six cherished nieces and nephews; and two special ladies who shared different parts of his life, Nicole Rudolph and Ashana Davis.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and MaryAnn Ochs, and brother, Richard Ochs.
