Jeanne Alice Heath, 76, of Aberdeen, passed away Sunday, November 23, 2014, at her home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 6, 2014, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 409 2nd Avenue NE, Aberdeen, with Father J. Joseph Holzhauser, Celebrant.
Burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery.
Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Friday, at the mortuary with a Liturgical Wake Service and Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before Mass at church on Saturday.
Memorials are preferred to Avera@Home.
Jeanne Alice Schiley was born October 13, 1938, in Lily, SD, to John and Mary (Baisch) Schiley. She grew up on the family farm and enjoyed farm life immensely. Jeanne attended school in Lily, where she was active in plays and cheerleading and received several awards for her achievements. Following high school graduation, Jeanne began working for Northwestern Bell in Aberdeen.
Jeanne was united in marriage to Patrick Heath in Lily, SD, on February 16, 1957. Their union was blessed with two children: Timothy and Terry. The family made their home near Aberdeen, where Jeanne began what would become a 31-year career in General Services Communications Administration with the Federal Government.
Jeanne was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aberdeen and a volunteer at Roncalli Nearly New.
In her younger years, she enjoyed spending time at the family's cabin at Enemy Swim Lake and was a true animal lover. Jeanne also enjoyed collecting a variety of things, including jewelry.
Blessed to have shared Jeanne's life are her husband, Patrick Heath of Aberdeen; one son, Timothy Heath of Pierre, SD; and one daughter, Terry Holman of Kansas City, MO; seven grandchildren: Laura Stewart, Nathan Holman, Mistina Heath, Ethen Heath, Julius Heath, Marissa Nitschke, and Hillary Garreau; one brother, Richard "Dick" (Alberta) Schiley of Webster, SD; and one sister, Helen (Lee) Bugge of Sauk Centre, MN.
Jeanne was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary; one brother, David; and one sister, Margie.
