Ilene Elizabeth Schmidt

Ilene Elizabeth Schmidt, 97, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at Bethesda Home of Aberdeen.

Ilene was born September 2, 1927, on the family farm in Edmunds County, South Dakota.

She is survived by her children: Jennifer (Ron) Sheppard of Kerrville, TX, Kathy Hook of Rapid City, SD, Patricia (Ed) Hoffman of Custer, SD, Franklin (Amy) Schmidt of Eagan, MN, Stanley (Beth) Schmidt of Putnam Valley, NY, Paul (Shannon) Schmidt of Inver Grove Heights,MN, Richard (Victoria) Schmidt of Burbank, CA, and Peter (Mary) Schmidt of Warrenton, VA. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and four step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; and one sister Teresa Schliesman, Sioux Falls, SD also survives.

Ilene was predeceased by her husband Stanley in 2007 and an infant son John.

Funeral mass and services will be held at a later date.
