Greg Elliott Nesseim was born on September 16, 1965, in Huron, SD, to Jerry and Mary Lou (Wolterman) Nesseim. In 1967, the family moved to Aberdeen, where Greg attended school, graduating from Aberdeen Central High School with the Class of 1984. He furthered his education at Northern State College and received his Bachelor's degree in 1989.

Greg made his career of 24 years at Education Assistance Corporation (EAC), which is now known as Great Lakes Higher Education Corporation.

Among Greg's interests were tennis, football, basketball, marching bands and the lake. When Greg first began playing tennis, he practiced by hitting the tennis ball against the garage door and became quite skillful at the sport. He went on to play tennis competitively for many years. Greg also loved spending time at the family cabin at Pickerel Lake. There, he shared many happy times with those closest to him. Greg loved waterskiing and boat rides. In addition to his own talent at waterskiing, he enjoyed watching his only nephew, Justin, ski with the Aberdeen Aqua Addicts every summer. Greg was a member of the "Downtown Quarterbacks Club", where he could discuss weekend football games with friends. He was a lifelong fan of the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Greg was also a member of the YMCA and an avid fan of local athletics, attending numerous CHS sporting events over the years. Greg was a loving son, brother, uncle, and friend. He will be dearly missed by those who knew him.

Grateful to have shared Greg's life are his father, Jerry Nesseim of Aberdeen; his sister, Kathy (Adam) Heyd of Aberdeen; nephew, Justin (Hannah) Heyd of Huron; numerous cousins; and countless friends.

Greg was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Lou, in 1992.
