Goldie Monica Lechner

Goldie Monica Lechner, 82, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Avera St. Luke’s Hospital.

Visitation and a time of fellowship and sharing memories will be Sunday, January 29, 2023, from 3-5 pm at Schriver’s Memorial Chapel.

Goldie Monica Lahmann was born October 27, 1940, to Ted and Louise (Schwartz) Lahmann in Long Lake, SD.  The family moved to Aberdeen when she was only a few years old.  Goldie attended Aberdeen public schools and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School.  She married Leslie Lechner on June 12, 1960, in Aberdeen.  Three sons Kevin, Kelan, and Kelup were born to this union.  Goldie worked at Northwestern Telephone Company for a short time.  She later worked at Sears Department Store for thirty years and then worked at Target for several years until she retired.  Goldie enjoyed playing cards and listening to country music.

Grateful for having shared Goldie’s life are husband Leslie of Aberdeen; two sons: Kevin Lechner of Groton, SD, and Kelan (Patty) Lechner of Aberdeen; daughter-in-law, Dawn Lechner; two sisters: Vivian Lebold of Minneapolis, MN, and Diane Wickstrom of Sioux City, SD; six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Goldie was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kelup Lechner; two brothers; three infant sisters; and grandson, Bryce.
