Geraldine “Gerri” Y. Fryer, 74, of Aberdeen, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2017, at Groton Care and Rehabilitation Center in Groton, SD.

Her memorial service is 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 27th, at Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, with Pastor Jeff Whillock, of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, officiating.

A time of fellowship immediately follows the service at Schriver’s Memorial Fellowship Center.

Gerri’s wishes were to be cremated with private family burial taking place at a later date.

Visitation is one hour before the service at the mortuary.

Geraldine Yvonne Pederson was born August 2, 1943, in Aberdeen, SD to Gerald M. and Yvonne D. (Wheeldon) Pederson.  This is the area where she was raised and attended school.
Gerri married LeRoy H. Fryer, Sr. in December of 1962 in Aberdeen.  Because of LeRoy’s employment, the coupled moved to Brandon, SD in 1969, where they remained until 1975.  They then returned to Aberdeen, where Gerri was employed for many years at E-Z Stop, as well as the Hitch’n Post and Bur Mar’s Shoes.  Gerri and LeRoy shared over 38 years of marriage before he passed away on July 4, 2001.  Gerri continued to make Aberdeen her home until the time of her death.

Gerri was a die-hard fan of her children’s sporting events.  She also loved spending time in the sun and had a special appreciation of the outdoors.  Gerri enjoyed eagle watching and also had a love for the many horses she owned and cared for during her lifetime.  Above all, Gerri loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids.

Grateful to have shared in Gerri’s life are her children: James A. Fryer, LeRoy H. Jr. (April) Fryer and JoDee L. Fryer (Chris); six grandchildren:  Tasha M. (Beltran) Barrera, Rikki L. Clifford, Chelsea Fryer, Colton Fryer, Spencer Richards and Cyarrah Fryer; as well as six great-grandchildren:  Brayden, Bella, Jaxson, Teagan, Taige and Tavin; and one brother, David W. Pederson, and his family.

Gerri is preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
