Garry Gene Clark, 76, of Hecla, SD, passed away Friday, February 4, 2022, at home with his wife Jean.
The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 14, 2022, at Schriver’s Memorial Chapel in Aberdeen, SD with military honors. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. A time of fellowship and luncheon will follow the service. Burial will follow on a later date at the Hecla Cemetery.
Garry Gene Clark was born September 17, 1945, to Donald Clark and Doris Lahman-Hansen in Hecla, SD. He enlisted into the Army in 1964 and did one tour in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1966.
Garry married Jean Patricia Clark on January 22, 1969. Together they had three children; Michael, Melissa, and Michelle. For many years construction, maintenance, and pest control were his professions in the Hecla and Aberdeen area. His family was the most important thing to him. Garry was known as a hardworking, big-hearted, and jolly man albeit stubborn sometimes.
Garry enjoyed hunting and fishing. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Garry will be remembered for being a loving husband, a great father, a generous grandfather, a caring great-grandfather, and an unforgettable friend. He will be dearly missed by his family and his many friends.
Grateful for sharing Garry’s life is his wife of 53 years Jean Clark of Barnard, SD; two daughters: Melissa Clark of Hot Springs, SD and Michelle Glaser of Aberdeen, SD; his brother Jim of Dallas, TX; his three half-sisters: Terry, Kathy, and Arlene; his uncle Vern Lahman of Spokane, WA; his cousin Marvin Anderson of Las Vegas, NV; four sisters-in-law: Jane, Betty, Marge, and Janice; his grandchildren: Alex Glaser, Sebastian Hammel, Jordan Glaser, Brandon Glaser, Courtney Glaser, Talyn Dodd, and Onalea Dodd; his great-grandchildren: Aiden, Skylar, Mackenzie, Silas, Mia, and Grayson; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers: Dennis and Ricky Clark; his sister Connie Luma; his son Michael; his daughter Christine; and his fallen friends and brothers in arms.
