Frederick "Fred" Johnson

Frederick “Fred” Johnson, 63, of De Smet, SD, passed away Monday, April 15, 2024, in Sioux Falls, SD, surrounded by his family.

Fred’s wishes were to be cremated with no formal services held.

Schriver’s Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, 414 5th Avenue NW, Aberdeen, is in charge of arrangements.  Family and friends may sign the online guestbook.

Fred was born on October 11, 1960, to Alexander Audi Sr. and Eleanor Hartson in Glens Falls, NY.  Fred attended and graduated from Forestburg High School in 1978.  Following high school, Fred went on to become an electrician.

Fred took great pride in serving and being employed by Northwestern Energy for 28 years. He could often be found in the garage restoring cars, working on equipment, or out helping a friend. He also enjoyed spending time in the Black Hills with his late friend Roy and hanging out with his neighbor and dear friend Tom and others in De Smet, SD.

Grateful for having shared Fred’s life are his daughter, Sydney Johnson; his son, Alexander Johnson; his wife, Lori; his three sisters, Cheryle (Terry) Aslesen, Cynthia Marsh, and Pennie Baysinger; his two brothers, Milo Hartson and Larry Reynolds; two grandchildren, Arayna and Phoenix, and several nieces and nephews.

Fred was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor, his father, Alex Sr., and his nephew, Adam Aslesen.
