Evelyn Mae Bruckner

Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn Mae "Evie" Bruckner, 76, of Aberdeen will be 10:00am Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Sacred Heart Church, Aberdeen. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Schriver's Memorial Mortuary and Crematory, Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be 5:30-7pm Tuesday, October 21 with a Liturgical Wake Service 7:00pm at the mortuary. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church.

Evelyn passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014 after a courageous battle with breast cancer at her home.

Evelyn Mae Lickfelt was born October 12, 1938 to Elmer and Helen (Weron) Lickfelt at Bowdle, SD. At a young age, she moved with her family to Aberdeen. She attended Trail School west of Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen Central High School.

Evelyn married Leonard Bruckner March 5, 1957 at Seattle, WA where they resided for ten years. They returned to South Dakota and lived on the family farm near Ipswich for several years. In 1976, they moved to a rural Aberdeen home. Evelyn worked at the Gibson's Store for a short time and later worked at K-Mart for over thirty years. She also worked at Kessler's Deli until she retired in 2012.

Evelyn enjoyed going to the car races, watching the Minnesota Twins and working in her flower gardens.

Surviving Evelyn are her husband, Leonard of Aberdeen, four sons; David (Patricia) Bruckner of Bath, SD, Dale (Brenda) Bruckner of Aberdeen, Doug (Julie) Bruckner of Wessington Springs, SD and Daniel Bruckner of Nashville, TN, two daughters; Sandy Bruckner of Aberdeen and Laurie (Dale) Furby of Sioux Falls, SD, two brothers; Jim (Linda) Lickfelt of Columbia and Vince Lickfelt of Aberdeen, three sisters, Vivian (Vern) Cunningham of Aberdeen, Genny "Honey" Kumpf of Fargo, ND and Marg (Rick) Heinrich of Aberdeen, one sister-in-law, Darlene Lickfelt of Aberdeen, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents and one brother Jerome Lickfelt.
