Eugene Mattern

Eugene Mattern, 95, of Aberdeen, SD, passed away on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, at Avera St. Luke's Hospital.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Fr. Gregory Tschakert officiating.

Interment with Military Honors will follow the service at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery.

A time for fellowship and lunch will be at the parish hall after the interment.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, at Schriver's Memorial Chapel, with a liturgical wake and rosary service at 7:00 p.m. Visitation continues one hour before the service.
