Eleanor Catherine (Schell) Jund was born April 11, 1943, to William and Rose (Thomas) Schell in Trail City, SD. She grew up on the family farm before she and her family moved to Mobridge, SD, where she attended and graduated from Mobridge High School with the Class of 1961. Eleanor furthered her education at the Aberdeen School of Commerce. Following graduation in 1962, Eleanor became employed as a bookkeeper and accountant for various businesses in Aberdeen.

Eleanor was united in marriage to Joe Jund in Mobridge, SD, on November 27, 1964. Their union was blessed with four children. Eleanor then followed her passion and became a home daycare provider, a career that lasted for 35 years until the time of her retirement. She continued to make Aberdeen her home until the time of her death.

Eleanor was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was an officer in the Altar Society and President and active member of Band #6. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society and a volunteer for the Aberdeen Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. In her spare time, Eleanor enjoyed playing cards and watching and shopping QVC. She was also an avid Elvis Presley fan. Above all, Eleanor loved her family and her true passion and focus were always her children and grandchildren. Blessed be her memory.

Grateful to have shared Eleanor's life are her husband, Joe Jund of Aberdeen; daughter, Jackie Jund of Aberdeen; son, Jason (Tiffany) Jund of North Sioux City, SD; and four grandchildren: Jayce Braxton Jund, Jamisyn Belle Jund, Jaidyn Brynn Jund and Jayla Blair Jund.
